Overview
CHX is a manufacturer of branded merchandise serving multiple customer tiers with varied pricing structures. As the business grew, pricing logic became distributed across spreadsheets and informal processes. While this approach had worked in the early stages, it began to limit efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
Flowmoco partnered with CHX to design and implement a centralised pricing platform that established a single source of truth for pricing across the organisation.
The Challenge
Pricing rules differed by customer type, order volume, and product configuration. Over time, these rules were maintained in multiple spreadsheets and relied on the experience of a small number of team members.
This created operational friction. Sales teams were spending valuable time assembling and validating quotes. Internal visibility was limited. Financial reconciliation required additional checks. Most importantly, pricing governance was dependent on individuals rather than systems.
CHX recognised the need to modernise its pricing infrastructure in order to support continued growth and future distribution partnerships.
The Solution
A centralised, tier-aware pricing engine was designed to replace spreadsheet-based workflows. Pricing logic was formalised, codified, and governed within a structured system that could be accessed consistently across teams.
The new platform integrated directly with accounting processes and was built with an API-first architecture, ensuring that CHX is prepared for future third-party and aggregator integrations.
Role-based access controls were introduced to ensure appropriate oversight, and the system was deployed in a scalable cloud environment to support long-term expansion.
The Impact
Sales teams are now able to focus more time on customer acquisition rather than administrative quoting tasks. Pricing transparency has improved across departments, strengthening alignment between sales, operations, and finance.
Knowledge is no longer concentrated in a small number of individuals. Pricing rules are centrally managed, version controlled, and consistently applied.
Most importantly, CHX now operates with infrastructure that supports scale. Pricing is no longer maintained through manual workarounds but through a governed, extensible system designed for growth.
A Foundation for the Future
By centralising pricing logic, CHX has reduced operational risk, improved internal clarity, and positioned the business for expansion into new distribution channels.
The transition represents more than a technical upgrade. It reflects a structural shift toward operational maturity and scalable growth.
